I was browsing through a few of my Cricut projects and realized that I never shared a couple of them with you. Sooo . . . I know it might be cold and wintry where you are, and you might have the Christmas music on putting up your holiday decorations, but I have a few sunny-feeling projects to share with you today.
For this page I used the Fancy Frames Project Cartridge to cut the large background shape and journaling spot. I used a glittery stack of paper by Die Cuts with a View cutting out a flower from one of the patterned papers to use as a page accent. The gems are by Adornit. I used my sewing machine without any thread to add a subtle border around the edge of the page. This layout actually came together very quickly . . . gotta love that, right?!
For this second project, I decided to cut adhesive backed paper (this one is the Terrifically Tacky Tape sheet by Provo Craft) using my Cricut Expression Machine. It can be a little tricky to do, considering that both sides of the sticker paper has slick release paper . . . which does NOT want to stay still on your Cricut Mat. I solved that issue by roughing up one of the release papers using sandpaper, using a bit of tape to tack the paper to my Cricut Mat, and also holding the paper in place while the machine was cutting the design.
I cut the top layer of the citrus slice image three times.
Popped it out of the sticker sheet, carefully peeled off one side of the backing paper and adhered it to the bottom layer. All patterned papers are from the Six by Six paper pads by My Mind’s Eye.
Next, I sprinkled glitter on top of each shape.
When they were finished, I was ready to add them to my card!
This was a really fun technique that I can’t wait to try again!
