Your next stop is the amazing and talented: ***AMBER PACKER***

**********************************************************

So let me tell you why I chose the wordย IMPROMPTU this month. You see, I have a four year old, and if you have a four year old, you know that they are constantly on the go. They are constantly coming up with new games to pretend and play and curious about everything in the world around them.

My daughter is fascinated with scissors right now. I should have seen it coming . . . but somehow I thought this child of mine would be immune from the temptation. Enter in the movie “Tangled” and we have ourselves an IMPROMPTU haircut! Heeee! I know. It wasn’t terrible short in any one area, which was good. Even the hairdresser said she did a good job! But she definitely did not have bangs before this. LOL!

My sweet girl started bawling her eyes out, when she realized she couldn’t just stick her hair back on (can’t you tell from her mugshot-like photos). ๐Ÿ™‚ It was quite traumatic for her because she REALLY wants long hair like Rapunzel. I reassured her that everything would be find . . . and you know what?! After we took her to get it “fixed” at the hairdresser, she was quite proud of her makeover. Infact, she’s so proud that she gave her Barbies the same exact hairdo! LOL! Yes, . . . the scissors have been put up high for a little while. But the whole story makes me smile and I couldn’t wait to record it on a scrapbook page.

SUPPLIES: My Mind’s Eye STELLA & ROSE Hazel Collection (Patterned Papers, Layered Chipboard, Decorative Brads, Bits & Pieces Label Stickers), My Mind’s Eye STELLA & ROSE Mabel Collection Trims, My Mind’s Eye LIME TWIST Life of the Party “Charmed” Alphabet Stickers (mini letters), My Mind’s Eye LIME TWIST Out of the Blue “Remember” Twine (gray), Sassafras Lass Chipboard Letters, Cricut Machine and “A Child’s Year” cartridge (scissors), Darice gems.

I have a BONUS project to share with you today! I made these sweet little Easter Cards using an older My Mind’s Eye collection called Pretty Please (don’t you love how timeless My Mind’s Eye collections are?!). The stamps are by My Cute Stamps.

Wishing you a Beautiful Easter Weekend!

  1. OH NO!!! I am sooo afraid of an * impromptu* makeover here with my four year old. I tell her every time I cut the boys hair that we never try this alone and I always talk about it. I am so afraid she will try it too. Thanks for telling your story ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. I honestly think a handful of a child’s hair is scary (been there 3 times with my 3 kids) but I have to say her final cut/style is super cute. Great layout!

    Love your cards too!

  12. Great page! My little brother did the same thing one summer when he was 5: he said the hair was making him too hot so he cut it off. Even with the “fix” he had jagged bangs for a few moths until it grew out…

Love the cards too – they are adorable!

  17. OMG, too funny! My son just turned 4 and he loves his scissor also, luckily his hair is not long enough to cut and he is pretty happy cutting scrapbook paper so he has not cut anything else!! Love her shorter cut too!! Those mug shot photos are too funny, she looks so sad!

  21. Heehee!!! I can’t help but laugh because my 4 year old gave herself a haircut when she was 2 because I wouldn’t use the clippers on her like I did on her brothers. You got off easy, my dear princess gave herself an anti-mohawk (as I like to call it – she cute her hair really short right down the middle of her head)

I absolutely love everything about your layout!!! Your daughter’s hair looks adorable when everything is said and done (:

I LOVE the middle photo of your daughter… poor little thing!!!! And the barbies.. what a crack up… My daughter also gave her barbies a haircut… but for some reason, never herself! Well, not when she was young.. she just recently has been cutting her own bangs, and since she is 13, I am letting her!!!

    Adorable work.. as always, Jana!!!

I have to say, the after shot of the haircut is TOO TOO cute. They always say their is a reason for everything!

  70. Do you know why I love your page SO much? Because on Friday, my almost 3 year old did the VERY SAME THING!!! For the very same reason!!! Luckily, she barely took a bit off her bangs (“Me cut mine bangs!”), and the rest of it is still so short that if she cut any more, I haven’t been able to tell. She also did a good job, I guess! Your layout is so fun, I love that you really showed her haircut before it was fixed… how heartbreaking when she learned it didn’t go back together (mine, who is obsessed with tape these days, suggested we try some to put hers back). This is my FAVOURITE post of the whole hop!!!!
