The bright, unapologetic hues of light dancing through the atmosphere, refracted from a prism or reflecting off the water are captured in Soleil, a collaborative collection by BasicGrey and Sassafras. This line is both serene and invigorating with its harvested-from-the-earth fruit and flower colors like soft lavender, juicy peach, tangerine, blueberry juice and watermelon. Let its calming yet spirited nature inspire your creative soul.
I had so much fun playing with this collection! I actually have two pages to share with you today. Here is the first one.
How awesome is that striped paper at the bottom of the layout. It looks like I cut a gazillion different strips of patterned paper and pieced them together, but all I had to do was cut one long strip to go across the bottom of the page. But that’s not the only place I used that striped paper … Can you see the other place I used it? Right above my photo I cut two “strips” from the paper, cut jagged ends and created my own faux washi tape strips! Woot! Woot! These papers are so light and summery … perfect for scrapping pics of eating popsicles on the front porch.🙂
I balanced out the pattern of the fun striped pattern paper by using more subtle patterns on the top of my page. I used my Silhouette Die Cut Machine to cut the clouds and sunburst.
The stickers and layered stickers were my favorite thing to use on this page. I took a cue from the Soleil sign post sticker and created a second sign post as part of my title. I added the arrow sticker to a mini popsicle stick and then spelled out the word “sweet” with the letter stickers.
AT THE BEACH
I love how these patterned papers make is so easy to obtain a layered look on my pages. For this page, I matted my photos with one patterned paper and then added it to the background sheet with one other strip of striped patterned paper. Yet it looks like I spent hours creating a background collage.
My favorite part of creating this page was creating this title block with the beach umbrella sticker, letter stickers and dimensional flower sticker. The patterned paper in the background is a floral, but looks like a sky of clouds on this little block.
I added vellum die cut clouds to the top of this page and just HAD to create another beachy signpost with that cute Surf/Swim layered sticker!
