Fireworks

4th of july comments, 4th of july graphics

Happy 4th of July! Today I have a festive page up on the My Mind’s Eye Blog and thought I would share it with you here, as well. But first, I wanted to share with you a few pictures from our big Family Summer Vacation. We just got back from visiting the beautiful Midwest. Our first stop … the incredible Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri.

We had a BLAST! Our week was filled with many more amazing sights, that I’ll share with you another time. 🙂

Here is the page I have going up on the My Mind’s Eye Blog today featuring the Boy Crazy collection.  I have a super-fun brother-in-law that loves to put together firework shows for our family in the Summer. It’s so much fun! We gather together in the parking lot of my father’s business to watch his pyromaniac show. It’s scary and exhilarating all at the same time because the fireworks are so close to us! Afterwards, everyone helps to pick up the remains of the firework packaging and sweep up the ashes in the parking lot. It’s becoming a really fun tradition!

I used a mixture of chipboard elements, stickers, and decorative brads to create the fireworks in the “night sky” on this page. The title is cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine using a cut file found in the Silhouette Online Store. I cut the red layer out twice so that I could snip the letters apart and emboss a few of them with my Cuttlebug machine and the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I hope you have a fun and safe celebration today! Happy Birthday, America!

  1. Hi Jana, the layout is fabulous!!! And your vaca looks quite fun. But there is No way in the world I could have looked straight down like that. I got scared looking at the picture. 🙂 Have a wonderful 4th of July!!

  2. LOVE all the circles on your layout !! Perfect for fireworks. The closest I’ve ever come to a panic attack was being up inside the Arch. It started with that teeny tiny pod, as I’m claustrophobic. Then I lost sight of the hubby while up top, it was crowded and I could feel that darn thing moving. Thankfully I handed the camera to my husband and he took the pictures out those teeny tiny windows, while I was rooted to the floor in the middle. Been there done that, checked it off the bucket list. Won’t be doing it again. LOL

  3. Looks like a fun vacation and a super fun layout! Love how you turned the embellishments into fireworks. Also really like how you embossed some of the letters in your title! 🙂

  4. Great layout and pics, Jana! We will be at the top of that arch in about two weeks. It’s my second time going, and I still remember the sway that you could feel up there. Ahhhhh . . . scary but amazing! Glad you had a great time.
