Book of Love “Matchmaker” Challenge

Happy Valentine’s Day!

All this week on the Noel Mignon Facebook Page the “Book of Love” crop has been going on. Each day a member of the design team has presented two challenges to help inspire our members to create pages for their own “Book of Love.” Today is my turn and I have my first challenge page to share with you. My challenge is called “The Matchmaker” and the idea is to inspire you to use quilting or paper piecing on your page.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

I used an EK Success triangle punch and the Noel Mignon February 2014 Book of Love kit to create this quilt-inspired page background. After arranging my punched triangles in a center column on my page, I used my sewing machine to zig zag stitch along all of the seams. I LOVE the look of stitching on pages! I used to do it all the time, but for some reason have let it slip from my process lately … I think it’s time to add it back in. 🙂

A accented the corners of several of the punched triangles with small wood veneer hearts from the kit.

The title was cut from a 3×4 card cut-apart sheet by Jillibean Soup. I layered this on top of a doily (from my stash) along with the two tags from the kit. The tags were patterned, but I decided to flip them over and journal on their backsides.

The photos are placed on a red mat created from THIS embossed cardstock stack. It’s an oldie, but goodie! And if you like it, it can still be found in Noel’s store HERE.

Finally, I accented the bottom right corner of my photos with a cluster of pre-printed die cuts by Jillibean Soup. I think these little Love Birds are the cutest!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a happy day celebrating with your loved ones. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, come join in the fun at the Book of Love Crop on the Noel Mignon Facebook page.

See ya!
