This week on the Noel Mignon blog the design team has been challenging ourselves to scrapbook in shades of green, inspired by St. Patrick’s Day. As I was working with the March 2014 Wishing Well kit, I realized that I had already chopped up the one true green piece of patterned paper in the kit on a page I will be sharing with you next week … so I decided to go to the next best thing … blue-green.
I selected this awesome Webster’s Pages constellation printed paper from the kit and paired it with a couple of pictures of my kids at a sleepover with their cousins. Perfect, right? The starry paper inspired me to choose the word art for the title (cut with my Silhouette Cameo) and a sunburst to tie the main photo and the title together. I layered a couple of triangle sequins together in a few random places to represent “stars” in the night sky, which is kind of a fun and unexpected twist to things.
But wait! I loved the backside of the constellation paper, too. What to do? What to do? I know! … I chopped a stripped off of the bottom, flipped it around and was able to show the darling ampersand print on the other side. I added a chipboard frame from the kit to the smaller photo and then used the product packaging from the Maggie Holmes rubons in the kit as my journal block.
Thanks for coming by! I hope you have a great weekend!
