My Scrapping Goals for November

It will be fun to discuss them together throughout the rest of the month.

Today I thought I would share with you my scrapping goals for November and what I hope to accomplish.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I like to make it last as long as possible. One way I do that is by scrapping along with the season.  Even though the stores are putting out all of the Christmas decorations, and I just might be starting my Christmas shopping here-and-there; I don’t actually go into full Christmas mode until December 1st. I’m going to soak up Fall for as long as possible!

The first thing I did was go through my photo folders on my computer and make a list of occasions that I want to create scrapbook pages for. I focused on finding things that were related to Thanksgiving, Fall, Family, and Home. I also threw in some camping photos, since I tend to reach for cozy colors to scrap these types of photos, too.

I then go through each set and decide which photos I want to scrapbook. I edit and print everything and I’m ready to roll!

Now, I have a stack of photos to work with throughout the month with similar colors/themes. This way, I can pull out similar supplies and make the most of them while they are out on my desk and I am in my creating “mode.”

I’ll be working on using the stash in my Fall bins, but I also picked up some new goodies to play with.

First, I picked up a few sheets of the Pebbles Harvest collection. I stumbled across several of the embellishments for this collection at TJMaxx and they just felt so lonely! They “needed” some paper friends, right?! Hehe!

I also have the Noel Mignon November “Golden Delicious” kits on their way to me. They should arrive today! I can’t wait to dig into those babies … aren’t they pretty?

Okay … back to my scrapping goals … my list of photos is pretty long for the month. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to scrap ALL of them, but I’m going to give it a try. I’m also hoping to get some pocket pages done with some of the same sets of pictures using the above Golden Delicious pocket kit.

If I get into a rhythm, I’ll be ready. If not, that’s okay, too. I can always save the photos for another time if I feel like switching over to something else.

For today, I thought I would share with you two pages I created with the Pebbles Harvest collection.

FAMILY & FOOD

It’s very rare that I remember to take photos at Thanksgiving. I’m usually visiting with family or running around making sure food is ready, but last year I ended up with a couple. One my daughter snapped with her cousins and one that I took of my youngest daughter. I also happened to have a lone picture of the food from 2013, so I added that with them. I don’t mind that they are from two different years. Thanksgiving looks pretty much the same year-after-year anyway. 🙂

It always takes a little more time to look for them, but I LOVE the result of mixing different alphabet stickers together. Here I have mixed a new set of Thickers with a die cut ampersand, older chipboard letters by BasicGrey, and tiny letter stickers by Doodlebug Design. The pop of black in the title links together with the black and white photos nicely, too.

In my opinion, you can never have too much texture on Fall pages. Here I embossed the green cardstock strip with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot Page embossing folder.

The inspiration for this next page came from a Layout Tag game we were playing at the Noel Mignon online crop a couple of weeks ago. We were given the following layout  by Katie Hubach to use as inspiration for our own design.

Here is what I came up with using the Pebbles Harvest supplies.

IRON CHEF

I layered the photos and papers the same way as Katie’s page, but then decided to keep going with staggered layers towards the left of the photo group instead of adding in the circular elements.

The green and red layers are from a package of christmas-themed Studio Calico Handbook Album Inserts I had in my stash. The red/cream ephemera piece is something I also had in my stash. It might be something by Jenni Bowlin or 7 Gypsies? I’m not sure, but it worked well here! Yay!

This is what I have left of the six sheets of Pebbles Harvest paper. I should be able to create another page, or maybe some cards, don’t ya think? (I’m sharing here in hopes of keeping myself accountable and using up this cute paper before the season is over.)
