New Layouts and Diamond Press Giveaway!

Hi, Friends! How are you doing? Are you enjoying the warmer Spring weather lately like I have been? Oh, my! How I ADORE feeling the sun on my arms and face again!

Today I am up on the Noel Mignon Blog with my first page using the March 2016 Picture Perfect Classic Kit. This week, our design team challenge was to use the self-adhesive ric rac included with the kit. Here is what I came up with.

OUR WEEK WITH CLAIRE

I had several photos of my cute niece during a week she stayed with our family while my sister was in the hospital. We had such a fun week together crafting and hanging out, and thankfully, my sister’s surgery went very well. I printed several of the photos out and decided to combine them together on three “shelves” on the page.

Initially, I was going to create the shelves with the ric rac for the challenge, but then decided to go with patterned paper strips instead. The ric rac just wasn’t substantial enough to “hold” the photos … but I did layer the ric rac on top of the green strip. I love the fuzzy texture it adds to this page!

I printed my favorite photo of my niece in color and then framed it with a chipboard frame and several cute embellishments from the kit to set it apart from the others.

To accent the photos, I fussy-cut several small flower bunches from the My Mind’s Eye Hello Gorgeous “Sarah” paper. They were the perfect size and really help to tie everything together!

My niece and I really bonded over crafting that week … she especially LOVED using my Cricut machine! I decided I needed to give that photo special treatment, too … so I added the other chipboard frame and embellishments to it.

I just realized that I never uploaded my Noel Mignon page from last week! Doh! Our Design Team challenge last week was in honor of Leap Day, called the “Take a Leap” Challenge. We were to challenge ourselves to do something on our project that we rarely or never do. For me, I hardly ever take selfies, or include myself in our scrapbook … so that is what I decided to focus on.

GOODBYE GLASSES

I had recently snapped these pictures of myself wearing my glasses during the last week I was wearing them before corrective eye surgery. I pulled out the Noel Mignon January 2016 “Sweet Charlotte” kit and got to work.

Lavender is one of my favorite colors to wear and it just so happened that I was wearing it this day. I pulled out the super-adorable BasicGrey and Pink Paislee paper from the kit with lavender and combined them together in a few funky layers.

The letter stickers and pink dimensional flowers are something I had in my stash. I like the way the color of the Thickers seems to blend into the background paper here.

A few more flowers at the bottom of the page, to accent that cute camera sticker by Crate Paper.

I kept my journaling subtle as well, using a gray journaling pen. The chipboard piece is from my stash, but the other die cuts and stickers surrounding it are from the Sweet Charlotte kit.

  11. I took the survey. This die cutting machine would be great for cutting sentiments I need for my homemade cards. A lot quicker then dragging out my Cuttlebug. Thank you for the opportunity to win the $25 with the survey and especially to win this machine. Note in the server I used karenfab2@comcast.net – a email I use less often then the one I use for your blog.
