Scrapbook Page: Mermaids

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope your summer is off to a good start!

This week on the Noel Mignon blog, we are working on the “Splish Splash” challenge, where each designer is scrapping something along the lines of water … whether it is the beach, lake, pool, etc.

This was perfect for me because I have been trying to get caught up on our Lake Powell photos from 2012. Here are the photos I chose to work with.

When we went to Lake Powell this trip, grandma bought each of the girl grandchildren their very own Mermaid doll. They took those dolls EVERYWHERE and had a blast pretending to be mermaids themselves!

I used the June 2016 Noel Mignon Happy Days Classic kit for this page, along with some adorable images by Lettering Delights.

The title was cut using Lettering Delights PN Get Creative Font. I love the adorable handwritten look of this font and can see myself turning to it again and again for titles!

I used the large postcard stamp included with the kit to create the journaling card and added the title to the top of it, accenting it with some flair and a Simple Stories Brad.

The mermaid, seaweed, and seashell are also by Lettering Delights. The mermaid comes from a set called “Birthday Fishes” and the seashells and seaweed are included in the “She Sells Seashells” set.

The mermaid image I used had her holding a gift bag … I simply used detail scissors to cut away the gift bag, leaving me with just the mermaid.

The red chipboard flower from the kit was the perfect accent for the mermaid’s hair and this cluster of sea shapes in the lower right corner. The bright green of the Queen and Company flowers included with the kit definitely reminder me of something you would find under the sea. 🙂
