As you can probably tell from browsing through my blog, one of my favorite things to make, besides scrapbook pages, are dimensional treat boxes!
If you are sending a child off to summer camp this year, this next idea is for you! It would make a great little care package to tuck into their suitcase with a sweet note telling them how much you are going to miss them while they are gone.
I created this gift box shaped like a tent using my Cricut and the Carta Bella Paper The Great Outdoors collection. The tent comes from the Camping Critters cartridge.
I cut the base of the tent using Carta Bella’s Natural Linen Designer Cardstock and then stamped a woodgrain pattern on it using the Woodgrain stamp in brown ink. The other layers were cut from the floral papers from the collection: Forest Friends Paper (green) and Border Strips Paper (cream).
Hanging over the “door” of the tent is a little sign that says “Gone Fishing.” Dust cornstarch or baby powder onto the back of the “Gone Fishing” sticker, punch holes in the top two corners, and then add it to the tent with a mini brad and some twine. CUTE!
Once I had the box assembled I used fine-tipped detail scissors to handcut several of the flowers from the Wildflowers Paper to decorate the outside. They look so beautiful layered together with the ephemera die cuts and stickers.
If you are going to display the tent somewhere, it might be fun to create a few dimensional pine trees to sit next to your tent! I used the Fir Trees Die Set to create mine. I cut four trees for each dimensional tree. Score each tree down the center, fold, and adhere them together.
SUPPLIES: Carta Bella The Great Outdoors Collection: Natural Linen Designer Cardstock, Forest Friends Paper, Border Strips Paper, Wildflowers Paper, Sticker Sheet, Ephemera Pack, Fir Trees Die Set, Woodgrain Stamp
I will tuck some trail mix, some treats, and a note to my daughter inside to give to her when she heads off to girlscamp in a few weeks. I’m pretty sure it will brighten her day when she discovers it among her things!
