The hardest part about planning a magical vacation is the waiting! I thought it would be fun to create a countdown calendar to help the final days move along.
While searching on Pinterest for inspiration, I came across this fun idea by Mamas Like Me, but thought I would punch it up a bit by adding a topper to it and using the adorable Echo Park Magic & Wonder collection.
Begin by punching several 1.75″ circles from Ebony Flack Felt Designer Cardstock. Use a scoring board to score a line on one side of the circle.
Next cut Ebony Black Felt Designer Cardstock, Jumbo Dots Paper (red stars), and Wonder Stripes Paper (Yellow Stars) into 1.5″ x 8″ strips. These will be used to create the Mickey links. Cut the Confetti Dots Paper into 7/8″ x 8″ strips to connect the Mickey links together. You will also need one to connect the links to the topper.
The topper was created with a 4.5″ square piece of the Ebony Black Felt Designer Cardstock. I cut the 4×4 card from the Multi Journaling Cards Paper. I reverse rounded the corners and then adhered it to the cardstock base.
I placed eyelets in the top two corners and added a ribbon for hanging. Next, I used several Element Stickers with foam square adhesive for decoration.
So are you headed to the Magic Kingdom sometime soon? Why not make this project for your family to help the waiting game pass more quickly?
