Scrapbook Pages: Using Lots of Texture

On today’s page I had fun using lots of dimension and texture. I used the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection combined with more papers and embellishments from my stash.

LOOK AT THIS

This page started with the two smaller photos on the right. I didn’t have gobs of journaling, but the fun nature of these photos made me want to do something spunky in the big empty space to the left … so I decided to get a little artsy and create a trio of pie chart shapes.

The orange and yellow triangles are cut from the Cool Kid papers. I then mixed in some arrow paper (My Mind’s Eye) and plain teal cardstock embossed with a Teresa Collins Ebosser embossing folder.

I added the dimensional embellishments on top of the pie wedges (these are Candy Buttons from the BasicGrey Spice Market collection from several years ago). I also added in some dome gem stickers (Adornit) for some sparkle.

The title was created with a cut file by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette Design Store. I cut it out twice, trimmed out every other letter and popped them up to give it more dimension. I also outlined the letters with a black journaling pen and added a shadow layer.

The arrow is by Echo Park Paper, and can also be found in the Silhouette Design Store (Design #44512). I outlined it and then colored it in with a yellow Bic permanent marker for a doodle-y feel.

Finally, I added some stamping using the Stampin’ Up Playful Backgrounds and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets and a little bit of spray ink.
