Queen & Co: BYU BASKET

Roses are Red, Posies are BLUE — Using a Single Color for All of Your Page Embellishments …

Last year when my daughter graduated from high school, her work put together a gift basket for her featuring the colors of the college she would be attending the next year. All the treats they included inside were blue and white. It was so cute, and really made her feel special and loved.
As I went to scrapbook this memory, I couldn’t help but use all kinds of BLUE Queen and Company embellishments on this page … and the main focus here are the adorable blue iridescent flowers!

I wanted the iridescent flowers to have a bit more presence so I layered them on top of blue punched flowers.

I also added green punched leaves using the Festive Flower Builder Punch by Stampin’ Up.

I gave the photo the “blue-treatment” by tying a blue/white baker’s twine bow around the bottom …

… and adding Blue Dot Glitter Tape to the top!

Another bit of Blue Dot Glitter Tape at the bottom of the page keeps your eye moving through the layout design.

Next time you create a page, see if there is one color you can pull out to use for all of your embellishments. It will help to tie your design together and create a cohesive look.
