One of my favorite things about Christmas is the magic of twinkling lights. Because of that I am always on the lookout for projects that are able to be lit with a battery-operated candle or light. With a bit of vellum, this Fireplace Box would be so cute placed on a mantel with a light inside! You could even give it to a friend with a treat inside and then include a light so they can use is as a decoration afterward.
The idea for this project began with the darling large Santa from the Santa’s List paper of the Carta Bella A Very Merry collection. I LOVE him and just HAD to use him as a focal point for a project. I looked around the Silhouette Design Store and found a cut file for this Fireplace Box and knew he would look so cute next to it unloading Christmas presents for the family he was visiting.
A beautiful paper bow created with the Scallop 3D Bow Die Set tops off this box. I also added several branches from the ‘Tis the Season Branch Die Set and holly from the Christmas Holly & Berries Die Set. All that foliage really makes this project feel special!
The mantle of this fireplace is decorated with a sprinkling of stickers, along with a chipboard ornament and a bit of holly. The sparkle stickers surrounding this little cluster adds to the magical feel of this project!
In the bottom left corner is a happy holiday greeting, layered over a jar of mouth-watering candy!
Doesn’t it look festive with a light tucked inside! It makes me want to snuggle up with my kids and read them the classic story, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Do you enjoy creating dimensional papercrafts to decorate your home for the holidays? I love it! These kind of projects always add that magical touch to a room!
