Several years ago, my mom decided that she wanted to create a family Christmas tradition for the grandchildren that would impress on them the meaning of the season. She spent hours sewing nativity costumes and writing a program so that each Christmas all of the children in our family could take part in our own family nativity play.
I’m so grateful for the memories we have made as we have had our family nativity each year! I was delighted to be able to use the Echo Park Paper Wise Men Still Seek Him collection to document this important tradition of our yearly family Christmas party.

I used the Bethlehem city scene (Border Strips Paper) to stretch across the width of this two page layout and then lined up the photos of each of the kids in their costumes underneath on strips of Ebony Black Felt cardstock.

The photos of the Nativity play with everyone participating are stacked together on a block tied with some rustic jute twine.

I created my own journal block on the computer telling why this year was especially memorable for our family. I accented it with the floral branch sticker along the bottom and a few punched stars.

The kids are growing up and starting to head off to college … in a few years, who is able to come to our family Christmas party is going to look a lot different. I’m grateful I captured this memory when I had the chance.
