Simple Stories: Smile

I’m back with another page using the Simple Stories Hello Summer collection and a June 2018 sketch by PageMaps!

SMILE

These snapshots are from our trip to Hawaii a couple of years ago. We were just standing on this path waiting for a tour guide … and as I looked at my family, I just felt so grateful to be there in that beautiful place, with these beautiful people. Definitely a reason to “Smile,” don’t you think?! Life is so good!

I anchored the “Smile” sticker on a speech bubble die cut (created from a metal die I have in my stash) to give it a bit more presence as my title. Next, I surrounded the title with a few more stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet. The sun cloud, leaves, and flower are all from this sheet. That cute little lime slice is from the chipboard sheet.

I used a stamp from my stash to create the journaling block and then decorated the left side with a chipboard cactus and more stickers.

At the bottom of the page, I used the chipboard banner as a resting place for the “Relax” die cut and other elements. I stamped my date here with a Heidi Swapp date stamp and then added a bit of Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine to break up the linear feel of this page. (I’m always soooo nervous to add that final step of ink splatters … thankfully, I felt good about how they fell on the page this time! Whew! :D)

I think that pineapple “Peace, Love, & Pineapples” paper is just so cute here and really makes this page shine!
