Hello, friends! I am ALWAYS running short on birthday cards around here … it only makes sense to have a Birthday Card Creating session to get caught up … don’t you think?! I pulled out the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection and got to work.
This collection is perfect for birthday cards with its happy vibe and cute characters! I came up with four cards to share with you today.
I created three A2-sized cards and one A7 card. Here is a look at the first A2 card featuring the darling ice cream truck.
I love the “Treat Yo Self” sentiment for this card, because birthdays are definite a time to treat ourselves and to splurge on yummy treats like cake and ice cream. I love the texture the texture the chipboard hearts add to this card!
This second card features the super-sweet unicorn sticker. I love her gold freckles on her muzzle and bottom. She and her bird friend look like they are ready to go celebrate with a night out on the town with the twinkling night sky behind them!
I used the 6×6 paper pad on this page, cutting a corner from the rainbow paper and a pink patterned heart to use as accents.
I used a large circle to punch out the sentiment from the 12×12 pad for the sentiment on this card. I love that the 12×12 pad includes lots of gold foiling on the patterns and makes this sentiment feel extra-special.
The colorful houses at the bottom of the card are anchored with a marbled patterned paper strip. I used foam squares to layer the pink house sticker on top of the house die cut for added dimension. A sprinkling of gems adds a sparkling touch!
I love the toucan riding the bike die cut on this last card. His kitty friend looks like she is having a blast being pulled in the cart. I drew and cut out the cloud shape in the background so that I could mimic the unique shape of the bike. I embossed it with a striped embossing folder from my stash (Cuttlebug James’ Set) and then matted it again on the coral patterned Peace Sign paper. A strip of Lemon Textured cardstock anchors the chipboard sentiment.
I can’t wait to send these cards out! They are sure to put a smile on the faces of my friends and family. A hand-crafted card is a surefire way to let them know they are important to me!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
