Scrapbook Page: Winter Wonderland

Happy Friday, friends! A few seasons ago my kids and I were out-and-about doing some holiday shopping and decided to come home a different way than we normally do because of traffic. Thank heavens for traffic that day because we happened to stumble across the cutest light display!

WINTER WONDERLAND

I used the Photoplay Paper Frosty Friends collection to scrap these dark photos. The bright colors of these papers and the darling penguins capture the childlike excitement we felt that night gazing at the light displays!

A lot of times the stickers and die cuts for a collection aren’t large enough for my pages, so I really enjoy fussy-cutting out large elements like these from the 3×4 cut apart cards. I cut out the tree, snowglobe, WINTER letters, and the penguins for this page from the Chill Out paper.

I also had a BLAST using the coordinating stamps and dies for this collection along with some green wire to create the light strands for this page. I colored the bulbs with my colored pencils and then used Gamsol and a paper stump to smooth out the lines.

I used a circle punch to punch vellum circles to go behind each light bulb, making them appear as though they are glowing. I also added a few white snow dots using Nuvo Crystal Drops in white.

It’s hard to see in these photos, but I also used the stamps to create my own blue snowflake paper with white ink.

Do you have a favorite light display your family likes to visit in your neighborhood?
