My daughter spent the past three months on a Study Abroad program with her university visiting England, France, and Italy. She had a blast! This was one of the first selfies she sent home and I just had to scrapbook it using the amazing Passport collection by Carta Bella Paper!
I layered a strip of the red and blue “Air Mail” striped Tourist Class Paper along with a border sticker across the top left and bottom right corners of the page. At the top I clustered together a few stickers and chipboard accents.
I cut out a few of the horizontal cards from the Journaling Cards paper and layered them behind my photo. I added a chipboard airplane to the top right corner of the photo along with a few die cut clouds created with the Spread Sunshine Die Set.
A couple of tags peek out on the left side of the photo!
The green London tag indicates the first city my daughter visited! I added the “Here” chipboard sticker to let the viewer know.
I have never been to Europe, but I hope to go someday. Have you?! Have you recorded your memories from that trip? Why not use the amazing Passport collection to get started?
Hello! There are NEW sketches up at PageMaps for the month of June. Yay! I always love being inspired by Becky Fleck’s sketches! They are especially perfect during the summer months, when you want to keep creating, but don’t want to expend too much mental power thinking about where to start on a page … just pick a sketch, print a few pictures, and run with it!
Here is my page for this month!
I pulled out the Simple Stories Romance collection for this page of my daughter and her last Valentine’s Day box (sniff, sniff). I mirrored the sketch to match the direction my daughter was facing in the photo, so that she would be facing the title and other photos.
I used a large fussy-cut flower, and a clock trimmed from the 4×4 Elements paper to represent the circle in the sketch.
I then placed my title across the top of the smaller photos. The chipboard title had lots of pattern, and to help it stand out against the pattern of the background paper, I matted each letter with blue glitter paper.
Your eye starts at the top of this page, travels down through the title and supporting photos, to the journaling … to keep your eye from “falling off” the edge of the page, I used a couple of chipboard arrows to point inwards towards the journaling, and back towards the focal photo.
Summer is a time to be outside and make memories, but that doesn’t mean you have to fall behind on your memory keeping! Challenge yourself to grab a few photos, and use a few of Becky’s sketches at PageMaps this month to keep your creative mojo flowing!
