Carta Bella Paper: Pirate Ship

Ahoy there, Mateys! What little (or big!) boy wouldn’t love this 3D pirate ship sitting on their shelf?! This was a really fun project to create using the Carta Bella Paper Transatlantic Travel collection.

I die cut the ship using my Silhouette Electronic Die Cutting Machine and a cut file by Cre8ive Cutz. It looks daunting, but it was so easy to assemble. The papers of the Transatlantic Travel collection are what really make this project look special

The bottom of the boat was cut from the Take the Ride Paper. I added panels in Travel Gazette Paper (stripe) and the polka dot paper from the 6×6 paper pad. The stripe really gives this project a pirate feel! I added strips of the stripe paper to the sails, as well, to balance the pattern and keep the pirate-feel going throughout.

I added a cluster of die cuts from the Frames & Tags Ephemera Pack and Ephemera Pack to both the side of the boat and the ship’s sail … beckoning you to go on your own high sea adventure!
Black enamel dots from the Echo Park Wedding Bliss collection give the cannons some dimension and shine.

I added eyelets and jute twine to the sail to make it more realistic. I always love adding textural elements like this to a project!

At the top of the ship is a spooky pirate’s flag flying proudly. The skull image is by Echo Park and can be found in the Silhouette Design Store (Design #80358).
I tied on a couple of tags from the Frames & Tags Ephemera pack for a bit more detail here, as well.

Inside the ship I added a liner of the Travel Map Paper with the compass pattern.
And how cool is the sail with the script pattern on the front and the map pattern on the back. Eek! I love it so much!

Thanks for letting me share this fun project with you! My little swashbucklers are already clamoring at who gets to keep this one in their room! Ha!

Bella Blvd: Home of the Brave

Today I am up on the Bella Blvd. Blog with a process video featuring a patriotic page created with a combination of Bella Blvd. collections!

This was a really fun one to put together! I love working with a color scheme … grabbing elements from several collections to put together my own unique look for a project.

Jana Eubank Home Brave 1 600

The grid background paper is the Dancing Jellies paper from the Secrets of the Sea Boy collection. I then used my Silhouette Cameo 3 machine to cut the stars and stripes for the top of the page using the Blueberry Stars Paper (Oh My Stars Collection) and the On the Farm Paper (red wood slat paper from the Barnyard collection).

Jana Eubank Home Brave 2 600

The title is a combination of two packages of acrylic words (Home, Namaste and Be You, Be Brave) along with the Blueberry Wonky Alphabet Letter Stickers. So cute!

I love the circular die cut pieces that I added to the right of the title … don’t they remind you of fireworks?!

Jana Eubank Home Brave 3 600

I layered several star die cuts on top of the Blueberry Paper stars on the left side of the page and then added a mixture of Milk White, Blueberry Mix, and McIntosh Mix Puffy Stars stickers to give the page a “sparkly” look and add texture and dimension.

Below the photos, I added two house die cuts along with a little cloud. The houses tie in with the “Home” of the Brave title at the top of the layout.

Bella Blvd: Just Plain Fishy

I love the Fundamentals Sticker sheets that come with each Bella Blvd collection. There are so many versatile shapes on each sheet, including phrase stickers, tab stickers, border stickers, all types of accent stickers: like hearts, circles, arrows, pluses, and more. There is even an alphabet! Everything you need to make a page look finished is included! You gotta love that!

Today I wanted to share with you a page I created using the Secrets of the Sea – Boy collection, using lots of Fundamental Stickers to accent my page. Check it out below!

JUST PLAIN FISHY

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd Secrets Sea Just Plain Fishy 1 600

I gotta say, one of my very favorite things about the Fundamentals Stickers is the cute alphabet. I love the varying sizes of the letters. It makes your title on your project look so bouncy and fun! Here you can see that I spelled out my title on a circle of 6×8 paper that has been stitched around the edge with my sewing machine. I added a puffy fish sticker and then used the hearts from the Fundamental Sticker Sheet as the air bubbles for the fish!

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd Secrets Sea Just Plain Fishy 3 600

I added a designer clip to the top right corner of my main photo and then added a phrase sticker, a large heart sticker, and two plus stickers as accents. You can also see the border sticker accenting the top of my page!

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd Secrets Sea Just Plain Fishy 2 600

I clustered lots of the Fundamental Stickers in the other corner of my page to the left of the small photo. First, I placed added twine to the tag sticker and added it to the left of the photo. I then added the sailboat puffy sticker. The small cloud, “AWESOME” word sticker, and rectangle fish sticker ground everything and make it feel cohesive.

I added another border sticker to the bottom of the page and used my sewing machine to zig zag stitch across the top of it.

The journaling on this page would almost get lost in the shuffle of things if it wasn’t for that adorable octopus sticker grouped with a phrase and arrow sticker from the Fundamentals Sticker sheet. The arrow directs your eye to the story and helps provide movement on the page.

I had so much fun putting this page together and the Fundamental Stickers were just the things I needed to connect all the different areas of the page together. Thanks for stopping by today!
