The last project I created for the My Mind’s Eye CHA booth this year was a mini album featuring their new Record It – Just Splendid collection. The colors and wood elements (Um, … Hello! WOOD Dots! Eeeeek!) of this set just make me smile. It would be a perfect set to record practically anything! I used it to record our 2013 Summer Vacation to Missouri and Illinois. Here’s a look through the book. (Hey! That rhymed! Hehe!)
I kept the overall design of the album fairly simple to go along with the clean lines of the Record It line. The pictures themselves are quite busy, so this seemed to work out really well!
I used my Silhouette Cameo, the 6×6 paper pad from the collection, and cardstock scraps from my stash, to create decorative page dividers. The decorative tapes were perfect for adding colorful borders. I even used the tapes on the page protectors themselves.
I love all the words on the blue decorative tape. I snipped them apart and used them throughout the album to accent photos.
Tickets to vacation attractions, make great page accents!
I had a couple of maps and brochures that were too large to fit on the pages. I took them to my local copy store and had them reduce them to fit on the page.
I really love these 6×8 scrapbooks! They are the perfect size to hold vacation memories all together. It was such a fun trip and makes me excited for spending time with my family on vacations in the coming year.
Happy scrapping!
