I was absolutely THRILLED when Leo Kowal from SVG Cuts contacted me and asked me to be a Guest Designer for their 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway celebration! (Be sure to check in daily on the SVG Cuts Facebook page for a chance at some FANTASTIC prizes!!! Hint, Hint: Today they have a giveaway for a Silhouette CAMEO! Eeek!) I have been collecting SVG Cuts files over the past year and LOVE everything they create. If you haven’t taken a peek at their website you NEEEEEED to! Watch a few of their videos and you will see what I mean. 😉 Amazing, amazing stuff! And sooo much fun to create with!
This week they are having a 25% off total purchase Christmas sale (use coupon code XMAS at checkout). As a thank you to their customers, this week they will also be putting up an entire collection as a FREE GIFT for their customers. WOW! How awesome is that?! I will let you know when it goes up so you can download it.
Okay … onto my project. 🙂
I created three layouts using their amazing cuts and have the first page to share with you today. For complete instructions and cut sizes check out my project HERE at SVG Cuts.com.
SVG CUTS Supplies:
How cute are those nesting dolls?! The minute I saw them, I knew I wanted to use them on a holiday page. I used various papers from my scrap stash for the cut outs and then used the My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic collection for the background papers. Here’s a closer look.
To add a bit of texture to the nesting dolls clothes, I used a couple of embossing folders. The trees on Mrs. Claus’ apron are a BasicGrey embossing folder called Snow & Trees. The snowman’s cape is embossed with Cuttlebug Houndstooth folder. I added chalk to the nesting dolls cheeks and hair for a bit more dimension and then used pearl stickers in both white and black as buttons and eyes.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! My posts are going to be a bit sporadic until I get through the holidays, but I will definitely hop on when I have something to share. Don’t forget to check out SVG Cuts 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways on Facebook. They have some AWE-SOME prizes that you won’t want to miss!
See you soon!
As a 12×12 scrapbooker, it took me awhile to see the value of the 6×6 paper pad that so many paper companies offer along with their collections, but now I LOVE them! I love mixing larger patterns from the 12 x 12 collection (for example, the large red chevron print on this page), with the smaller scale prints from the coordinating 6×6 paper pad (the rest of the papers used on this page).
Again, this page was inspired by a shape I saw in an interior design magazine. Home décor really inspires me … it always has. 🙂 I think my husband is thankful I love scrapbooking so much, because if I didn’t, I might be trying out all the fun things I see on larger surfaces … like the walls in our home. Hehe! It’s nice to have a 12″ surface to experiment on. 🙂
My Mind’s Eye Cut & Paste “Presh” Collection: Details paper, Awed paper, 6×6 paper pad, Beautiful 2×6 Journal Card, Tiny Word Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Enamel Shapes, Decorative Buttons, Decorative Stamps
I used the My Mind’s Eye Cut & Paste Presh collection for this page. The 2×6 journal card was the perfect title. I could have used the open white rectangle for the journaling, but opted to add three punched and layered butterflies instead to carry the pink around the page in a visual triangle.
Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only a week away? We will be eating dinner at my in-laws house with 35+ people. Should be lots of fun!
Baking gingerbread cookies is one of my kids favorite Christmas traditions. They really love the tactile experience of rolling and cutting the dough and it’s fun to see how serious and creative they get when it comes time to decorate them!
My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic Collection: Ledger paper, Mistletoe Magic paper, 6×6 paper pad, Chipboard Accessories, Stickers Accessories, Decorative Brads, Decorative Buttons, Decorative Tape
I used the 6×6 paper pad and decorative tape to do a lot of layering on this page. I had a hard time deciding on which patterns to use! Too many cute ones. Hehe!
I love when MME includes wood buttons in their decorative button packs. I especially love layering a fun brad on top of the ones shapes like a donut.
The icons and artwork in this set are just so fun. I’m a girl that gravitates towards vintage icons with a traditional flair. Can’t go wrong there! Here I layered three of the chipboard pieces together in a little vignette to accent the bottom of my page.
Now … to get started on Christmas shopping …
See you again soon!
Fall is my favorite season. We’ve been lucky to be have enjoyed a longer-than-usual fall season here in Utah … but it has finally taken a stormy turn and I’m afraid that our Fall ship has sailed. Oh, well. Atleast I can still enjoy the colors of the season with my scrappy products!
FALL IS HERE
My Mind’s Eye Cut & Paste Charm Collection: Spin Paper, Trend Paper, Relaxed Paper, Shine Paper, Route Paper, Sweet 4×6 Journal Card, Bits & Pieces (Layered Stickers), Tiny Word Stickers, 5×7 Sticker Sheet, Enamel Dots, Decorative Buttons, Chipboard Stickers
The title was cut in two layers using a word art cut file by Lori Whitlock and my Silhouette Cameo machine. I embossed it using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and my Cuttlebug machine. The middle section is backed with a bit of orange cardstock and I added the chipboard heart and button over the letter “A.” The “How Sweet It Is” banner phrase was cut out from the MME Sweet 4×6 Journal Card.
I handcut out a zig zag from the Shine paper for a bit more texture at the bottom and then added the layered sticker flowers to the bottom corner of my photo. I’m falling in love with the Tiny Word Stickers lately! They are the perfect little accent to add to other embellishments.
Have a great week!
