Summertime is about so many things, but for my daughter it is about hanging out with her friends having fun! Today I have a new layout up on the Echo Park Paper Blog featuring the I Love Summer collection.
My daughter was born in the summer which is perfect for her sunny personality! I placed the “Hello Sunshine” Ephemera die cut at the top of the page because it is the perfect reflection of the fun person she is.
Besides hanging out with friends, my daughter LOVES to go to the pool to swim anytime she possibly can. I decided to use my electronic die cutting machine to cut this series of open circles to mimic bubbles. I treated each bubble, or circle, with 6×6 papers and embellishments.
This circle at the top featured a couple of chipboard pieces from the Chipboard Accents pack, as well as a glittering, pink, rhinestone brad.
I used the Ride the Wave embossing folder to emboss the Lt. Blue solid background of this circle for a few fish to hang out in.
This last circle features a cheerful, toucan with a seashell background and another pink, gem brad.
I used an Echo Park design from the Silhouette Design Store and letter stamps from my stash to build my title. The file I used is called the “Fun in the Sun” phrase (Design #186889).
I loved the striking contrast of the navy blue in this collection and decided to finish this page by capping off the top and bottom with strips of the gingham Summer Floral paper. The result is a happy, summery page that I can’t wait to add to our family album!

Have you checked out the latest Simple Sets by Simple Stories
? With six papers (2 each of 3 designs) and a coordinating 6×12 Sticker Sheet, they are the perfect solution for a quick project or two!
Today I am working with the Springtime Simple Set
. Butterflies and flowers are not only perfect for Spring, but work great for everyday memories, as well. This page is about my daughter achieving recognition in her writing class at college. Definitely, a “bloom where you’re planted” moment for her!
Butterflies are a perfect symbol for growth and transformation, as well as following your own path. I fussy-cut the butterflies from the 3×4 & 4×6 Elements Paper
and then adhered them to the page with foam squares as embellishments.
I layered several of the stickers
together in this embellishment cluster, anchoring them with strips of patterned paper across the bottom and a scribble-style circle that I die cut using my electronic die cutting machine.
On the opposite side of the photos I used several patterned papers from my scrap bin and some metal dies from my stash to create a pair of dimensional flowers.
I hope this page will help my daughter remember to always celebrate her accomplishments! There is so much in our lives to be grateful for!
