…………………………………

Well, I did it! I “killed” my November Noel Mignon “Golden Delicious” kits! All of the papers are down to the bits and pieces … all of the rest of the leftover bits (and there are still a LOT of usable items) will be filed into my stash to use on other projects.

So what did I end up making? Nine scrapbook pages, two 2-page pocket page spreads, four single page pocket pages, and one home decor piece! Woot! Woot! I will share these projects with you over the next week and then I will be moving onto holiday projects.

THANKFUL Home Decor Tray

I picked up this tray at Hobby Lobby. It is by The Paper Studio brand with a listed price of $12.99. However, I’m pretty sure I got it on sale … they are ALWAYS running great sales or use a coupon for it.

JanaEubank_ThanksgivingTray1

I was excited about purchasing this tray because I thought it would be a great rotating home decor piece that I could use pocket cards in. My plan is to rotate out the cards with the different holidays and seasons. Fun, right?!

I discovered, however, that the openings in the tray are smaller than 4×6 and 3×4. If you pick up one, just keep in mind that you will have to trim your cards approximately 1/8″ on each side.

JanaEubank_ThanksgivingTray2

You can also fill the openings with photos if you’d like! I just opted not to do that this time around. 🙂

My favorite card in the bunch is, surprisingly, the one with the layered gold bow. I’m usually not a bow person. I really struggle on finding places for them on my projects, but I had a lot of fun layering the chipboard pieces and brad on this one. The shimmer of the gold just makes me happy!

I also really love that cute little owl critter. I love how his eyes are closed … combined with the phrase “Give Thanks” below, it looks like he is in the middle of a sweet prayer of thanksgiving. 🙂 Awwww! That makes my heart happy!

JanaEubank_ThanksgivingTray5

I’ll be back over the next several days to share the rest of my Noel Mignon layouts with you!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

So You

Do you ever have those moments where you are just floored by how quickly your kids are growing up? I know you do. It’s crazy, isn’t it? Lately, I’ve been thinking about my son a lot. He is such a joy to have in our family. He is taller than me now, and is joining in on the adult conversations at family gatherings. He loves “older” music (like John Denver, James Taylor, Queen, BeeGees, etc.), collects cassette tapes and vinyl records, loves anything vintage, being outside every chance he gets, and just loves life. He is a happy guy, kind and thoughtful, and watches out for his sisters. 🙂 I’m so proud to be his mom. It’s been awhile since I’ve snapped some photos of just him, so I made him stop his homework the other day, so I could take a few.

Blog

I came across these cute pics of him wearing a coonskin hat the other day and had to scrap them. We were at a pioneer tea party for his sister and because I was focused on scrapping my daughter and her friends, I had missed printing these ones out. But they are just so HIM. I’m grateful I stumbled on them again, so I could get his cute personality in our family album.

I pulled out a Kaisercraft collection I had in my stash and put it to use. Can you tell that I’m loving using my stash lately? Hehe!

The title is a phrase by Karla Dudley that I found in the Silhouette Online Store here. I love using my Silhouette for titles! I never have to worry about running out of the popular letters and love that I can size them to fit my page perfectly. I cut the title out twice in two different colors (I do this a lot), and then used my scissors to trim out the word “you” so I could create a layered title. I embossed the red layer with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and then decorated the center of the letter “O” for some added detail and color.

The tree was trimmed from a die cut page that was part of the collection. I cut the hearts from another patterned paper and sprinkled them throughout the tree accompanied by phrase stickers (by Fancy Pants Designs).

I’m gearing up for Thanksgiving this week. I LOVE Thanksgiving! It’s the perfect time to catch up with family. If you are looking for a meaningful project for Thanksgiving Day, may I suggest downloading the FREE Printable album by Bella Blvd found HERE? (Stephanie, you ROCK for putting these together to share! Thank you! Thank you!) I put one together in 2011 for my family and it makes my heart smile every time I read it.

Here’s a peek at our 2011 book. The ironic thing is that we weren’t even at this Thanksgiving dinner with my family. We had a small Thanksgiving dinner here at home with our own family the night before we were supposed to travel to my sister’s three hours away to stay with her for the weekend. We ended up all getting sick and couldn’t go (this is why Maryn and Camryn were both thankful that we had a dinner just ourselves … or else we wouldn’t have had one that year). 🙂 I gave the book to my parents to have everyone fill out, and even though we weren’t there, their words remind me of all that was going on that year in each of our lives, and how much I love them.

I love reading my parents thoughts and love for each other. I cherish this because when do you get your parents’ to write in your albums, right? 🙂

JanaEubank_ThanksgivingBook3

My nieces and nephew even took the time to fill out the pages. 🙂

If you are interested in the older versions of Stephanie Hunt’s printable albums you can find them on the links listed below. Even though they have the years on them, I think you could still use them for other years (I’m thinking you could print out the new year on little blocks and adhere them over the other year).

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!

Thankful

Hello friends! It’s been awhile. I didn’t mean to let this few-and-far-between blogging pattern take hold of me, but lately, I just haven’t been feeling very chatty. I HAVE been creating though … can’t stay away from that … so I will try and catch up and load those projects here on the ol’ blog. 🙂

I know Thanksgiving seems like old news now that Christmas is on it’s way … but I do have a couple of Thanksgiving projects to share, if that’s alright with you. 🙂

SUPPLIES:
BasicGrey Serenade collection: Serenade Chemise Paper, Serenade Bustle Paper, Lucille Selvage Paper, Lucille Pin It Paper, Serenade Element Stickers, Serenade Alphabet Stickers, Serenade Printed Chipboard, Serenade Mixed Brads

I used the Serenade collection (Loooove!) to scrap some snapshots from last year’s Thanksgiving. We were actually planning on driving three hours to my sister’s home for the weekend. Before we left, I decided to cook an impromptu turkey dinner just for our little family. The kids were so excited! The girls drew a banner to hang on the mantle and my son created placecards on the computer for everyone. We had a great time cooking everything together. My husband quickly snapped these shots with his cell phone of our time together and I’m so glad he did! The next morning four of us woke up with the flu and we ended up staying home and never had an “official” Thanksgiving dinner with our extended family.

I spritzed the background paper with walnut ink and then began building my page by matting each photo on a different pattern paper. I adhered the photos side by side used the large floral sticker and layered border stickers to “connect” everything. The title was created with the chipboard letters that come with the Printed Chipboard.

I printed my journaling out on a transparency and added it to a journaling sticker. A few brads and more chipboard pieces here-and-there complete the page.

………………………………………………….

Growing up, my mom always left little treats for us kids on the kitchen counter for almost every holiday. They were so much fun to wake up to! When I saw this pilgrim hat cut on the Silhouette site, I knew it would be the perfect little container to hold a few treats for my kids. I added glittery yellow Stickles to the buckle and then created a couple of “feathers” to tuck in the hat band for additional color. The feathers were actually created from a free tropical leaf cut available on the SVGCuts.com website HERE. (On a side note, SVG Cuts has 28 pages of free designs available to download … be sure to go check them out HERE. WOW!)

I also created a pilgrim card for each of them. It was fun to write each of them a note and tell them all kinds of gushy-lovey reasons why I am thankful for them. 🙂 How cute is that pilgrim cut?! This one can be found in the Thanksgiving Harvest set at Lettering Delights. The card design was inspired by THIS CUTE HALLOWEEN CARD created by Jin of UnderACherryTree.com.

Next, I created a couple of Pie shaped gift boxes filled with candies. I took one to my parents and one to my husband’s parents to thank them for having us over for Thanksgiving Dinner at each of their houses. The pies are so much fun to make! I’m thinking I’m better at making a paper pie than a real one! LOL! You can find the file for the pie in the Fall Harvest SVG Kit at SVG Cuts.com. My girls begged me to make each of them a pie as well and they have been using them in their play kitchen, pretending to bake them in the oven. LOL!

And then finally, I used this free SVG file by Lettering Delights (find them on the blog www.underacherrytree.com HERE) to create these tiny little pumpkin purses filled with candies for a few of my gal pals at church. In addition to the SVG file you can also download a PDF for the gratitude cards. (I plan on adding one or two to a future Thanksgiving/Fall page!)

Thanks for taking a peek at my work! I’m so happy you came by today. 🙂

Take care!
