Queen & Co: Hello Cutie Layout

My first Queen & Co. project is up on the Queen & Co. Blog! With three daughters in my home, I knew the Queen & Co. Heart Throb kit would be the perfect fit for creating something about my girls.

I selected these photos of my daughter on her birthday last year and used her shirt as inspiration for my title. I used the acrylic “hello” script word from the kit along with letters I cut (using the ZP Periwinkle font by Lettering Delights) from glitter paper using my electronic die cut machine.

I cut the 6×6 papers into strips and then adhered them to the page side by side, disguising the seams behind my photos. The horizontal bands help give the photos a place to “rest.”
I typed my journaling on a journal card that I pulled from my stash. Here is a closer look at what it says.

My favorite part of this page is at the bottom where I had fun playing with the shaker elements of the kit. I die cut the bottom heart from pink cardstock (border) and the blue/white striped paper (insert) from the 6×6 Heart Throb paper pad.
Next, I created a dimensional shaker heart, using the gray floral paper for the background, and pink glitter paper for the border. Inside I added the large pink sequins, small white sequins, the dark pink heart toppings, the blue floral toppings, and a sprinkle of the new diamond topping. You always need to add a little sparkle and shine to a girl’s page, right?!

I added the “Love You Forever” sentiment sticker across the top of the heart with foam squares. The page is finished off with a sprinkling of heart sequins and enamel dots around the hearts and title. So cute!

2017: A Fun Year Ahead!

I’ve been a little slow-and-go on the blogging this past month while working on some personal project and creating samples for the Creativation trade show last month. (I’ll be sharing these projects soon!)
I’m thrilled to be able to announce that I will be joining the Queen and Company Design Team for 2017!!! I feel so honored to work alongside so many talented designers with products I love!

I’m also humbled and jumping-for-joy that I have been invited to stay on for another year with the Echo Park Paper/Carta Bella Paper Design Team!!!  I feel so lucky to be able to work with such INCREDIBLE companies in the industry!

Today I happen to be up on the Echo Park Paper Blog with my first 2017 Design Team assignment …  a Goals page featuring the Everyday Memories Mini Theme by Echo Park Paper.

This year, I wanted to create a page featuring my goals for 2017. I loved the calendar paper included in the Everyday Memories Mini Theme, and knew it would make the perfect background for this page!
I created the year in my title by using the numbers from the Days of the Month paper. I trimmed them in narrow blocks and then added a mini staple to the top of each one. I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 machine to die cut the word “goals.” The font is such a pretty one! It is the ZP New Years Font from Lettering Delights.com.

The clock, camera, and “Notes” card were hand-trimmed from the Journaling Cards paper. I used the solid colors of other journaling cards and the leaves from the Flower #4 Die Set to cut out the leaves.
I then used my computer to print my journaling in strips. A cluster of sticker elements in the top right corner points to the journaling.

I added the photo to one of the 4×6 Cards from the Journaling Cards paper. I left the bottom edge longer so that it resembles an instant photo. At the top and bottom I added stickers, and a couple of paper clips.

Documenting my goals with a layout helps me to internalize and focus on my plans. It would be fun to create another page at the end of the year reflecting on what has happened and how I felt about the efforts I had made towards the goals I set at the beginning of the year.
Do you document your New Year’s resolutions in your scrapbooks? Give it a try!

Echo Park Paper Idea Book

Have you had a chance to download the FREE Echo Park Paper Holiday Idea Book? It is stuffed full of all kinds of inspiring holiday projects by the Echo Park Paper design team.

One of my projects featured in the idea book is a fun project you can create for Thanksgiving this year! It would make a wonderful hostess gift. Or even a kind gesture to give to someone who has had special meaning in your life this year.

HOME SWEET HOME PIE BOX

jana-eubank-i-love-family-pie-box-approval-1

This project was created using the I Love Family collection. The pie box is a cut file from the Caramel Apple Pie SVG Set by SVG Cuts.com.

In the top left corner I created a floral cluster. I used the Dimensional Flowers cut files by Lettering Delights for the flowers. The branches were cut using the Carta Bella Paper Outdoor Branch Die Set (The Great Outdoors collection).

In the lower right corner of the box, I created a cute scene using die cuts and stickers from the I Love Famly collection, the Echo Park Stitched Circle dies (circle), Carta Bella Outdoor Branch dies (branches), the Mister Fox die (fox), and the Fall Is in the Air Die set (mushrooms). A few buttons sprinkled here and there add a homespun touch.

For a full list of supplies for this project, be sure to check out the Idea Book here.

.

My husband and kids are headed out to a football game tomorrow … which means I might have the house to myself tomorrow. Do you want to know what I plan on doing? Yep! You guessed it! Scrapbook! Hehe!

Are you staying inside for a little crafting this weekend?

Enjoy!

Echo Park Paper: Haunted Bird Cage

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m sure I have probably mentioned this a million times this month, but I’m going to say it again! Halloween is my favorite holiday. And it’s also my favorite holiday to get crafty for!
This year I revamped my entryway table with new decorations and created this Haunted Birdcage, created with the Haunted collection, to go front and center!
jana-eubank-haunted-birdcage-photo-1-600
I found the crows and glittery bats at the dollar store and the idea for this project was born!
First, I cut the birdcage shape out using my Silhouette Cameo machine using Carta Bella Ebony Black Felt Designer Cardstock. The birdcage cut file is from the “Three Birdcages” set by Lettering Delights. The top of the birdcage is cut from Very Scary paper. Next, I cut strips of the striped Very Scary paper to accent the cross bars of the birdcage.
jana-eubank-haunted-birdcage-photo-3-600
I wanted the birdcage to have a bit more height, so I cut a flat square box to go underneath it. (Square Box by Lori Whitlock Design #26219 in the Silhouette Design Store). I decorated the sides of box with more Very Scary Paper.
On the floor of the birdcage, I cut a square of the orange dot Haunted Words Paper. This helps the crow to stand out a bit. I also decorated the back of the cage with this panel.
jana-eubank-haunted-birdcage-photo-10-600
Now it’s time to decorate the outside of the birdcage! On the front I created a cluster of elements using designs from the 3×4 Journaling Cards paper. I also added pumpkins made with the Outlined Pumpkins Die Set. I wanted my pumpkins to be solid, so I adhered them to another sheet of orange cardstock and then carefully cut around them by hand.
jana-eubank-haunted-birdcage-photo-9-600
The flowers were cut from the orange dot Haunted Words Paper, using my Silhouette Cameo and the Dimensional Flowers Cut Set by Lettering Delights. I also added leaves and vines, cut using the Fall Branch Die Set, from the ebony felt cardstock and the Haunted Labels paper.
I added a few glittery bats from the dollar store for even more spookiness!

I had so much fun making this project! I’m actually thinking of creating another one to go with it! I’m thinking a big fly or spider inside would be a creepy touch. Hehe!
Give it a try, it’s the perfect Halloween Home Decor project!
