Scrapbook & Cards Today: Lake Life

I mostly create single-page scrapbook layouts, but double-page layouts are my go-to when documenting a vacation! Today I am sharing a 2-page layout that I created for the Winter 2023 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine using the adorable Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection.

LAKE LIFE

The assignment was for a column where we were sharing our favorite memory of 2023. Being in the mountains with my family is heavenly, so I chose to create a layout about a getaway my family took to McCall, Idaho, on the shores of Payette Lake.

Bella Blvd. collections are always so happy and bright. I love working with them and have the most fun choosing all of the die-cuts to decorate my project.

There are always so many cute critters … my favorite! And the Bella Pops with their glossy, epoxy details and layered look are the perfect way to king things up a notch!

The die-cut packs are HUGE! I love using the elements to create little scenes around my layout.

There are so many title options in the Ephemera-Words pack … and they are generously proportioned making them perfect for scrapbooking!

I also really love that the collection kits include TWO of each paper … perfect for those who LOVE creating double-page layouts or those who love to collect patterned paper. *raising my hand high*

The mountains are my favorite place to be … I will definitely be using this collection over and over. LOVE it!

Where is your favorite place to spend time with your family?

Thanks for stopping by today. See you again soon!

Inspiration Is All Around Us: Lifting a Title from a T-Shirt!

Hello, friends! I’m back with another layout using the adorable Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection! Let’s talk about inspiration. It’s all around us, all we need to do is keep our eyes open for it. Today, I’m telling a story about how I found the title for this page. Check it out!

ABSOLUTELY OUTDOOR-ABLE

My family and I went on a recent getaway to a lakeside, mountain town. Of course, we had to hit all of the quaint shops in town while we were there! Our favorite souvenir to shop for are t-shirts!

While we were in a shop, I spotted this children’s hoodie with this darling design. Sadly, there were no adult shirts with this design or I would have snatched one up in a heartbeat. However, I snapped a photo of it, knowing that it would make the CUTEST title for a scrapbook page. DESIGN HINT: While on vacation, look at t-shirt designs for layout inspiration!

I wanted my title to POP against the rest of the elements on my page. I used the Lawn Fawn Oliver’s Stitched ABCs set to die-cut my title from Simple Stories Dandelion cardstock. I then accented the centers of the Os with the Bella Blvd. Blue Skies Epoxy stickers from the Lake Life collection.

I wanted a few clouds to accent the sun die-cut I added to the top of my page, so I fussy-cut them from the Bella Blvd. ‘A Day on the Lake’ paper. More green epoxy dots sprinkled around add subtle shine.

I love that the Ephemera die-cuts include so many pieces to work with.! The images come in a variety of sizes within the same package. The larger images work perfectly on my scrapbook pages, look at that giant pine tree!

The Bella Blvd. Doohickey Stickers include so many great elements. I used two phrases here below my title, as well as this super-cute red check heart. There are also all kinds of scallop border stickers. I had used the red one already on another project, so I created my own scallop border accent here using Simple Stories Red Cardstock and the Spellbinders Romantic Slimline Borders die set.

I hope this layout inspired you to keep an eye out for scrapbooking inspiration in the gift shops on your next vacation. T-shirts always have such fun sayings on them … I’m sure you will find a unique title to use on your next page!

Happy Creating!

Creating with the Bella Blvd. Lakeside Collection

The mountains are my happy place! Before summer ended, my husband, daughter, and I took a quick getaway to one of my favorite lakeside, mountain towns … McCall, Idaho. I’m up on the Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine blog this week using the Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection to document my memories from this trip and have a new layout to share with you today!

LAKE FUN

The best thing about traveling with a teen these days is that they are almost always willing to pose for photos (especially when they can use those photos for their own social media. LOL!). We took a few photos together against this bright mural wall on the outside of a gift shop. I squealed with delight when I saw that the Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection matches our wall photos perfectly!

Because my photos are so bold, they almost act like embellishments on this layout. This led me to keep my paper choices simple. Bella Blvd. collections include so many beautiful tonal paper choices that made designing my background really easy. I placed one multi-colored floral strip across the top as an accent to tie everything together.

I kept the images in my embellishment clusters reasonably neutral as well. I created two floral groupings at the top of the page using a variety of die-cut Ephemera and Chipboard pieces. I added a little sparkle to these with some clear gems by Spellbinders.

One of my favorite embellishing techniques is to create scenes on my layouts. Bella Blvd. Ephemera die-cuts make this so fun and simple. At the bottom of my design, I added a little bear fishing next to a red A-frame cabin. So CUTE!

My final details include zig-zag stitching across the top of the red scallop border sticker and stitching around the edges of the yellow check paper.

I’m so happy with the way this layout came together! The Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection is bright and happy, and matched the vibe of our mural photos perfectly. What family photos from the lake will YOU be scrapbooking with the Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection?

Thanks for coming by today! Have a creative week!

February 2023 SCT Sampler: 80s Forever

I LOVE it when a scrapbook collection matches a set of photos PERFECTLY!

Hi, friends! It’s time to create a layout with my February 2023 SCT Sampler! This month’s kit features two collections: Bella Blvd. Our Love Song and American Crafts Stardust. Both collections are amazing and I can’t wait to play with them!

80s FOREVER

In high school, my daughter and her friends loved looking for clothes at the local thrift shop. One day my daughter bought this 80s-style windbreaker jogging suit to wear to a dance. She ended up wearing this tracksuit all the time and her younger sister still wears it now. It has been well-loved.

The colors and vibe of the Bella Blvd. Our Love Song collection matched my daughter’s tracksuit perfectly! It was like they were made for each other!

I chose three 6×6 patterned papers from the kit and decided to build columns of each patterned paper behind the photos. Of course, the 6″ long papers weren’t long enough to span the page, so I cut them in half and hid the gap behind the photos.

My kit also included a Roller Skates Bella Pop … again, a perfect title accent for this 80s style layout!

In my kit I also had a few flower die-cuts. I fussy-cut additional pink flowers from the Volume Up paper for the flower clusters. Next, I used Scrapbook.com’s Clear Pops of Color (from my stash) to add shiny accents to the centers of the flowers, matching the shiny, epoxy accents on the Roller Skates Bella Pop sticker.

The black hearts and ‘4 Ever’ title block were fussy-cut from the Borders paper. I added Mirrored Clear Droplets (from my stash) to each heart for a shiny accent.

I paired the ‘4 Ever’ block with some old Thickers from my stash for the title ’80s 4 Ever’!

The lips were fussy-cut from the Daily Details paper and were made glossy with a coat of Clear Pops of Color. One thing to note … going edge-to-edge with the Clear Pops of Color made the shape curl slightly. I simply mounted it onto some foam tape to flatten it out. Those glossy lips definitely remind me of the Wet ‘N’ Wild lip gloss I used to collect in the 80s! Ha! Ha!

This page is so bright and was so much fun to put together! If you’d like to watch a video of my process, click on the video window at the beginning of this post, or visit the Jana Eubank YouTube Channel.

Have a totally RAD week!
