Noel Mignon: Christmas Cookies

Are you ready for Santa to come down your chimney in a few days? Have you made or bought your favorite Christmas cookie to share with him?

My page today is about our family’s tradition of baking gingerbread cookies every year.

CHRISTMAS COOKIES

I used both of the December Noel Mignon Oh What Fun kits on this page, pulling out the whimsical elements and using a cheery color scheme of pink, red, green, white, and tan … the colors of a gingerbread house!

The puffy stickers from the kit kind of remind me of piped icing on a fancy Christmas cookie with their shiny, squishy appearance. I made sure to sprinkle lots of those cute puffy stickers around the page.

I cut the two gingerbread people from a 3×4 cut apart journal card from the Holly Jolly collection by Pebbles. I created a little candy cluster with them next to the title pairing them with the candy cane die cut. The candy cane is accented with two punched holly leaves, using my favorite Holly Berry Builder punch by Stampin’ Up.

The brown accent color gets sprinkled in two other places around the page to form a visual triangle … the brown wood veneer shape at the top of the page …

… and the cute reindeer die cut shape accenting the journal block.

I had so much fun adding all kinds of little bits on this page! My kids may like to enjoy decorating gingerbread cookies … but scrapbook pages are more *MY* speed. Hehe!

Merry Christmas!

Noel Mignon: Holiday Party

Are you gearing up for your holiday parties? Or maybe you have already attended several this year? Today I’m scrapping some photos from my family’s 2015 Christmas dinner.

HOLIDAY PARTY

This week on the Noel Mignon blog the design team is “Wrapping It Up!” by using both ribbon and tape … washi tape … on our projects … just like we would on holiday gifts!

Here is my take on the challenge using the December “Oh, What Fun” kits.

I used a sheet of Echo Park I Love Christmas Peace On Earth paper as the background for this page. That tone-on-tone pattern is so pretty!

Next, I pulled in all kinds of Simple Stories papers to layer up on top. That cute Christmas gingham paper has the pine pattern on the back … I just had to use both patterns here, they look so cute together!

I also added a length of plaid Fancy Pants washi tape across the top of the gingham paper strip.

Next, I fussy-cut several flowers to use as page accents … I had so much fun tucking them in here-and-there that I almost forgot about the journaling.

Tabbed cards to the rescue! I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 machine to cut them from cream cardstock, typed the journaling on one of them, and then tucked it behind the layers. I used Echo Park stickers to decorate the tabs.

I added a little dimension to the flat fussy-cut flowers by placing three red glitter, dots on top of the red printed dots. The glitter dots come from the red glitter Thickers included with the kit.

I used the same glitter Thickers to spell out half of my title. The “holiday” word comes from the Fancy Pants puffy sticker sheet.

How pretty is that green shimmer ribbon. I love how it looks here tied around the photo.

Noel Mignon: Noel

……………………………………….

Last year, as I was shopping for Christmas presents, I stumbled across these adorable Espari dolls. I couldn’t get over how much they looked like my daughter and my niece. These two cousins are the best of friends … and so I thought it would be fun to give them the doppelganger doll of one another as a token of their friendship. They loved them!

NOEL

I have been dying to use these poinsettia stamps by Stampin’ Up on a project … so I pulled them out to use on my first page with the Noel Mignon Oh What Fun kits. (There are still a few left in Noel’s shop if you are interested in checking them out. The Oh, What Fun Classic Kit is HERE, and the Daily Diary Kit is HERE. )

My title was created using my Silhouette Cameo 3 machine. I cut it out twice using red and white cardstock so that I could create an offset shadow for the word.

Around the title I placed those adorable mini acrylic stars by Pretty Little Studio. They were included in the Classic Kit this month along with several script words. I used one of the words to accent the bottom left photo on this page.

My photos are stacked on top of each other with a red cardstock mat. I placed a few more 6×6 paper layers behind. I just love those mini patterns!

Here is a closer look at the stamped poinsettias I made using the Reason for the Season stamp set by Stampin’ Up. I stamped the outline in black ink. The stamp set comes with shadow stamps that make the leaves and the petals look shaded. I stamped them in red and green ink, and then used colored pencils in slightly different shades to finish filling them in. I love how they turned out!

Noel Mignon: Feeding the Birds

Hello webbie friends! I’m up on the Noel Mignon blog this week with my final page for the month using the All Fall kits.

This week the design team is challenging ourselves to create a project using the following recipe: 1 sheet of cardstock, 2 alphabets, 3 photos, 4 patterned papers, and 5 embellishments.

Here is what I came up with!

FEEDING THE BIRDS

jana-eubank-noel-mignon-all-fall-feeding-the-birds-1

First, let me tell you a little bit about these photos. A few summers ago, Mr. Owen found three lost baby birds in our neighborhood. He was so worried about them, so he carefully scooped them up in a large bucket from our garage and brought them to our back patio, where he could watch over them (he was worried the neighbor’s cat would eat them) and feed them every few hours.

He faithfully fed those little birds all weekend long until we noticed that the mother had found them and had started to bring food to them, as well! I was so proud of Owen’s caring heart and diligence in his bird-sitting!

I began this page with a sheet of white cardstock from my stash. I recently ordered these fun Stampin’ Up stamps and wanted to build a background with them for this page. (Stamps used are Watercolor Wash background stamp and Gorgeous Grunge. I used them with Stampin’ Up Tip Top Taupe ink)

I love the look of artsy backgrounds … but am not very good at creating them. Thank heavens for brilliant companies who create products that help me get a similar look! Woohoo!

jana-eubank-noel-mignon-all-fall-feeding-the-birds-2

While I was creating this page … the song “Feed the Birds” from Mary Poppins kept playing in my mind … so, that is what I used for my title! I used the two alphabets that were included in the Noel Mignon All Fall Classic Kit. I especially love those dark yellow tile letter stickers by Pretty Little Studio… so cute!

jana-eubank-noel-mignon-all-fall-feeding-the-birds-3

For my three photos, I had one of Owen feeding the birds, one of the baby birds all snuggly in their bucket, and then I was lucky enough to get a shot of the mother bird feeding them as well.

jana-eubank-noel-mignon-all-fall-feeding-the-birds-4

Three of the four patterned papers were used in strips as a band across the page. I used the fourth patterned paper to mat my photos.

jana-eubank-noel-mignon-all-fall-feeding-the-birds-5

For the five embellishments, I used five chipboard leaves from the Noel Mignon All Fall Daily Diary kit … I REALLY tried to leave it to those five leaves, but couldn’t resist popping in one of the wood circle embellishments from the Classic kit, and also a few gold photo corners from my stash. I’m not counting the journal card (All Fall Daily Diary kit) or the glitter dots (these were from the Thicker Alpha sticker sheet, so they can go towards being a part of the two alphas, right?! Boo-yah!).

This was such a fun challenge and forced me to focus on adding supplies to my project in a very purposeful way. Give it a try! I think you’ll enjoy it!

Thank you so much for coming by today!
