One of my favorite things about cut files is that you can change them up to match the season or occasion you are working on. For today’s project, I’m sharing a Halloween Haunted House made up as a beautiful Christmas house!
I used the Maple Manor cut file by SVGCuts.com to create this project. I LOVE the cut files by this company! I was on their design team several years ago, and enjoyed my time there so much! (Mary, if you ever put together a design team again … COUNT ME IN! *wink*)
Mary Bonk, owner and designer of SVGCuts.com, is a paper wizard! Her cut files are sturdy, detailed, and EASY to put together. All you need to do is cut out the pieces, and then follow the videos showing you how to assemble each project.
I normally use lots of patterned paper in my projects, but this time I decided to use all cardstock. I added pattern and dimension to the roof and sides of the house using embossing folders instead.
I wanted my house to have a wintry feel, so I added glue in several places, and then sprinkled it with glitter to appear as though there is snow on the roof.
I had a lot of fun with all of the details on this house. I used my Silhouette Cameo to create Christmas lights for the roofline, and a dimensional wreath and greenery for holiday decorations.
I used pine tree metal dies to create the Christmas trees on the front porch, and even added a cork “WELCOME” mat in front of the door.
