Dusting Off the Flower Punches

The other day I was poking through the punches in my stash when I came across all of my flower punches. I thought to myself, “Wow! I haven’t used these for awhile!”

I grabbed some scraps I had laying on my desk and spent the next hour punching, curling petals, and combining shapes onto simple brads.

I had forgotten how much I love making paper flowers! It was a blast!

I even created a couple more flowers with my Silhouette Cameo machine.

Next, I grouped them all together on my desk for a quick snapshot. I loved the way they looked so much that right then and there I hot glued them to a card front.

I stamped out a simple sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Remarkable You stamp set … added a few die cut leaves using the Echo Park Spring Flowers Die … and called it good! Simple kraft colored photo corners finish it off.

I left my little creation out on my desk and have been enjoying it ever since!

What tools in your craft room have you been neglecting lately? Pull them out and put them to use … I’m willing to bet that you will have a great time and remember how much you love using them!

Have a great day!

More Shimelle Go Now Go

Happy Thursday, friends! I’m back with two more projects using a homemade kit I put together featuring the Shimelle Go Now Go collection.

CAMP FUN

At this point with my homemade kit I had lots of scraps left … I decided to see if I could layer them up to create a resting spot for some more camping photos. Here is the result!

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Camp Fun Layout 1 600

I had purchased several of these Pebbles sticker sets at the American Crafts Warehouse Sale last year to give to some teenage girls at my church to use in a journaling project. I had a couple of sets left and thought they looked adorable with the Go Now Go paper on this page.

The flowers in the tin can was perfect for these camping photos … it’s a subtle nod to all the times we collect wildflowers and display them on the campground picnic table in a paper cup or left over tin can from dinner. Ha!

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Camp Fun Layout 2 600

My goal was to do what I could to use up as many of the supplies as I could from my homemade kit … including the letters. I really like the way the bright green pops off of the page! I added more of the Pebbles stickers to decorate the open space to the left of the title and sprinkled in my favorite Stampin’ Up Metallic Enamel Shape stickers (seriously! I love these things! I have been using them on EVERYTHING lately!)

A line of red stitching around the edge adds the perfect finishing touch!

“HI” CARD

While I had everything out on my table, I decided to use up what I could by creating a card.

Jana Eubank Stashbuster Hi Card 1 600

I layered together leftover bits of the patterned papers and then added stickers and a sentiment with the chipboard letters.

The result is a cute card I would be proud to give to a friend!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my homemade kit projects these past couple of days. Tomorrow I will be back with a fun back-to-school layout I created for Bella Blvd.

Bye for now!

Working with a Homemade Kit featuring Shimelle Go Now Go

I’m not sure if it is the beginning of a new school year, but I have been itching to play with some paper collections I purchased awhile ago and haven’t made the time to use. I decided to put together some homemade kits with those products and work on creating at least two projects with them to share with you throughout the end of the year. My stash needs some love!

This week the kit I put together has lots of Shimelle Go Now Go. I was able to create four projects (Yay, Me!!!) with this kit and wanted to share them with you today and tomorrow.

…………………………………………………………..

First up … a two-page layout!

CATCH & RELEASE

I was in the mood to play with some cute cut files by Lettering Delights on this one. So that is what I did. The images featured on this page are from the “Happy Trails Too” set.

**SIDENOTE: I really struggled to get the colors just right on these pictures … so I hope you’ll bear with me!

Added into the mix are some older Pebbles stickers … I believe these ones were from the Walnut Grove collection.

I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 Machine to cut out the “Catch” letters (Font: Bebas Neue) and the Ampersand (“St. Patrick’s Day Set” by Echo Park Paper; Design #122732 in the Silhouette Design Store).

Those cute chipboard letter stickers are an older set from Bella Blvd.

It’s been awhile since I have played with my beloved embossing folders, so I used one here to add pattern to the light green pine tree.

The other side of the layout features this chubby bear; fishing for his dinner! Haha!

Next up, is a single page layout featuring some vacation photos.

OUR TRIP

These photos were taken on the way home from a long family vacation. The kids were tired and, while we had a blast on this trip, we were all ready to get back home. Our fun had officially worn us out!

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Our Trip 1 600

I used the Shimelle Go Now Go “Fly” paper for the background of this page, and then clustered my photos together on vertical strips.

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Our Trip 2 600

At the top of the photos, I layered together several of the Go Now Go Chipboard stickers with one of the Wooden Buttons … of course I had to use the heart to go with the “I Left My Heart in Nauvoo,” right?! I also added in a couple of red gem hearts for good measure!

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Our Trip 3 600

More gem hearts and another wooden button accents these chipboard stickers. I had to add a little sarcasm to this page with the “Happy Travels” chipboard sticker … because you can clearly see that Camryn was DONE. Done, and ready to be finished with this flying home thing! Haha!

Jana Eubank Stashbusting Our Trip 4 600

I used the chipboard letter stickers again on this page for the title, clustering more stickers around it to give it some personality!

The “adventure” acrylic piece is available at Freckled Fawn. (I LOVE the handwritten script of this piece … it was created by talented friend, Crafty Jen Schow!)

Bella Blvd: Back to School Page Inspired By the Iconic Apple

Happy Friday, friends! I have always loved the feeling of going back to school! The freshly sharpened pencils, the new box of crayons with their perfect points all lined up in beautiful rows, new clothes and shoes, seeing friends, and the feeling of a fresh start.

Today I am up on the Bella Blvd blog with a Back to School page about my son. I decided to use the iconic school symbol … the apple … as inspiration for my color choices.

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd New School Year Scrapbook Page 1 600

I love the simple colors of an apple … the red of its shiny skin, the green of the leaves, and the black of the stem. I found this beautiful image of an apple on pinterest HERE to get me started.

48c2bc5945ddf0b3877204440f95e36e

I lined the photos up in a single row in the center of the page, with a block of the Football Throw It paper in the center, cut to the same size of the photos. I decorated this block with Oh My Stars star paper pieces and used an Oh My Stars gift tag for the journaling.

The photos and journaling block are then anchored together with three rows of border stickers from the Soccer Fundamentals Stickers.

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd New School Year Scrapbook Page 4 600

Along the top of the photos is where I placed the title; using the “New” acrylic word along with alphabet letter stickers from the Soccer Fundamentals sticker sheet and Tiny Text Pumpkin Spice Stickers.

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd New School Year Scrapbook Page 2 600

I decorated the centers of the two letter “O”s with a couple of star die cuts, a button tied with twine, and a clear enamel sticker (Stampin’ Up Metallic Enamel Shapes). The green arrow and circular star stickers add a bit of fun to the title as well.

Jana Eubank Bella Blvd New School Year Scrapbook Page 3 600

With my design centered in the middle of the page, I felt like it needed to be framed a bit. I decided to “bookend” the top and bottom of the design with strips of the Oh My Stars McIntosh Stars paper with its clean and simple plus pattern. I then used the Stampin’ Up Border Ticket Tear punch to add a decorative strip of black cardstock below the top patterned paper strip.

Next time you sit down to scrapbook a page, try using the colors of a simple icon or image to guide your color choices. It was a lot of fun!
