Sometimes I hold off on scrapbooking certain pictures because I just haven’t found products that “feel” like the day or the memory that I am trying to scrap. Have you ever done that?
These are pictures of my daughter dressed up for the Valentine’s Day High School dance last year. The lace dress with the satin ribbon was just so HER! When I received the lace paper in the December Felicity Jane “Hello Christmas” kit I just knew where I would put that paper to use first … on this layout, of course! (The papers are still available in the Felicity Jane shop HERE, if you are interested!)
I decided to keep it simple, with a black and white color scheme, allowing the photos to really pop off the page.
My next challenge was finding a way to embellish this page … enter the Remarkable You stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I stamped the two larger florals and leaf branch on white cardstock several times, and then fussy-cut them out with detail scissors.
At first, I colored them, but decided they looked better on this page left plain. I LOVE them!!!
For the title, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the word “stunning” … a cut file by Karla Dudley (Silhouette Design #58232).
I hope you are having a great week!
It has been so nice to be able to spend time with my family this week … it’s my favorite thing about Christmas Break! And it is also the topic of my page today.
This is my last page with the Noel Mignon “Oh What Fun” kit and also my last page with the design team. I have LOVED being on Noel’s team and will continue to love and support her kits, but it is time for me to open up some time for new opportunities and new goals. Thank you, Noel, for inspiring me with your gorgeous kits! I have loved the time I have spent designing with them!
Starting Christmas Eve, we get to just BE together. We open presents, laugh at what picked out for each other, take lots of pictures, eat, giggle, make jokes, … and just MAKE MEMORIES.
It is my favorite part of the season. Everything is DONE. And we can just enjoy one another.
I used both of the Noel Mignon December Oh What Fun kits on this page, and had fun clustering lots of little bits together.
I made this tag look like a present by adding a die cut bow (Stampin’ Up Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies) to the top. The other two elements are cut aparts … that look like a stack of letters to Santa.
I couldn’t resist using those two big, beautiful, gorgeously-red, poinsettia blooms together on this page. I used the AWESOME, Must-Have dies by Stampin’ Up to add greenery around the flowers (Stampin’ Up Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies). Just so pretty!
I hope you have been enjoying your week with your family!
See you again very soon!
Are you ready for Santa to come down your chimney in a few days? Have you made or bought your favorite Christmas cookie to share with him?
My page today is about our family’s tradition of baking gingerbread cookies every year.
I used both of the December Noel Mignon Oh What Fun kits on this page, pulling out the whimsical elements and using a cheery color scheme of pink, red, green, white, and tan … the colors of a gingerbread house!
The puffy stickers from the kit kind of remind me of piped icing on a fancy Christmas cookie with their shiny, squishy appearance. I made sure to sprinkle lots of those cute puffy stickers around the page.
I cut the two gingerbread people from a 3×4 cut apart journal card from the Holly Jolly collection by Pebbles. I created a little candy cluster with them next to the title pairing them with the candy cane die cut. The candy cane is accented with two punched holly leaves, using my favorite Holly Berry Builder punch by Stampin’ Up.
The brown accent color gets sprinkled in two other places around the page to form a visual triangle … the brown wood veneer shape at the top of the page …
… and the cute reindeer die cut shape accenting the journal block.
I had so much fun adding all kinds of little bits on this page! My kids may like to enjoy decorating gingerbread cookies … but scrapbook pages are more *MY* speed. Hehe!
