Echo Park Paper: Down on the Farm Barn Gift Box

Hello! I had so much fun creating this Barn Gift Box using the Echo Park Paper Down On the Farm collection I’m sharing with you today. Let me tell you how I created it!

I found this adorable cut file online and was inspired to recreate a similar look using cut files that I already owned. (Check the bottom of this post for the list of cut files that I used.)

First, I cut out the Barn Box using Ultra White Felt Designer Cardstock for the roof and the gingham check Barn Yard Friends paper.

I wanted the roof to have shingles like the inspiration photo, so I simply cut 1” strips of the Ultra White Felt Designer Cardstock using my paper trimmer and then cut notches into the strips using a pair of scissors. I layered them together along the roof, finishing it off with a wider strip scored down the middle and notched on both sides to lay across the top of the roofline. To help the shingles pop a bit more, I brushed the edges with light gray distressing ink.

I used detail scissors to fussy-cut the farmer from one of the stickers on the Element Sticker sheet. I added him along with the cow sticker to the front of the barn using foam squares. I created a few corn stalks to go on either side of the barn door using the leaf sprig from the Flowers Bloom Die Set.

Next, I used the Carta Bella Paper Tree Die Set to add die cut trees and additional corn stalks to the sides of the box.

The barn is placed on top of an octagonal shaped box that I cut using Navy Blue Felt Designer Cardstock. I added green “grass” to the top of the box using Classic Green Felt Designer Cardstock. Before adhering the grass panel into place, I embossed it using a letter-sized polka dot embossing folder from my stash. I also die cut a long fence shape from Ultra White Felt Designer Cardstock using the “Echo Park Fence” cut file (Design #39988) and adhered it along the edges of the panel. I welded the fence sections together in the design program to make a longer border, then scored the bottom of each post, which allowed me to adhere it to the grass panel.

The rim of the box is decorated with the chicken border cut from the Journaling Cards paper. I also added panels to the base of the box cut from the Farm Trucks paper.

The front of the box is decorated with the “Farm Living” die cut from the Ephemera Pack, a dog sticker (Element Stickers), more die cut corn stalks (Flowers Bloom Die Set), and a pair of cowboy boots created with the Carta Bella Boot & Horseshoe Die Set.

I cut the boots from Kraft Designer Cardstock, Chestnut Brown Linen Designer Cardstock, and silver foil cardstock from my stash. I stamped a design on the side of the boot with brown ink using the leaf stamp from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set.

I love the way this project turned out and think it will be so much fun to fill with goodies for someone!

Echo Park Paper: Fill’er Up, Santa! Christmas House Gift Boxes

Today I am looking ahead to Christmas (Ack! I know!) and sharing a set of Christmas House Gift Boxes on the Echo Park Paper blog using the NEW Merry & Bright collection. These would be perfect for filling with treats and trinkets this coming holiday!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out these boxes using the Cotton Tail Village SVG Set by SVGCuts.com. Even though this set was meant for Spring/Easter … the house is fun to decorate for other holidays! (It would be cute as a Haunted House for Halloween, too, don’t you think?!) Just change up the paper and embellishments, and waaalaaa!
Each box is created from a mix of patterned papers. This first one features the green plaid Jolly Words paper. The lid of this box is cut from the 2×2 Journaling Cards paper and the body of the box is cut from the Merry Presents paper. The smaller patterns of the 6×6 paper pad were perfect for the roof and trim pieces. Elements from the Chipboard Accents and Sticker Sheet decorate the front of each box.

On this house, I stitched together three die cut trees (Merry Christmas Tree Die Set) to create a dimensional tree to add to the front of the house. Simply bend up the layers with your fingers after stitching together. A Chipboard Santa is waving a friendly “Hello!”

In addition to the stickers and chipboard pieces, I used green and red baker’s twine wrapped around the wreath and an enamel dot for the doorknob to add additional texture. There are even glittering gems (purchased from the Dollar Tree) lining the roofline! These are the kind of details that make projects like this so much fun to create!

Tombstone Treat Bags for Halloween

Happy weekend! Are you playing in your craft room today?

I’m back with another project using the Die Cuts with a View Premium Halloween Spirit paper pad that will be hitting the shelves this season.

Treats aren’t just for the kids at Halloween … I mean, why should they have all the fun, right?! Oh, you could definitely make these for the kids, but I think I will be giving them out to a few of my friends!

These treat boxes open by lifting the top of the tombstone off. Inside I placed homestyle caramels in a pretty rows!

Let’s take a closer look at each box! This one features a cut owl perched on the top of the the greeting cut-apart. A glimmering gold spiderweb sticker adds spook-night shine!

The foiled accents of the paper and stickers from this paper pad were a bit tricky to capture with my camera, but they make these projects Oh, So Special! Both the “Boo” and the “Happy Halloween” are shiny gold foil on the box below.

This cat is pulling his scariest face to try and keep you away from this candy haul. The ghost may be frightened, but don’t you run away … there are caramels waiting for you inside! Ha!

The hardest part about making these cute treat boxes is going to be giving them away! They look just as cute as a Halloween decoration sitting all together in a row.

Echo Park Paper: Autumn Gift Basket

Fall paper collections always put me in the mood for homebaked treats and connecting with neighbors. Today I am up on the Echo Park Paper blog with an apple barrel basket, created with the new Celebrate Autumn collection, that would be perfect for taking to a dear friend. Inside I have tucked a couple of dishtowels, a set of ceramic measuring spoons, a paper acorn box filled with treats, and a jar of honey.
Jana Eubank Echo Park Paper Celebrate Autumn Apple Barrel Basket 1 600
I cut the “Thankful & Blessed” oval on the front of the basket from the 4×6 Journaling Cards paper and placed it on top of a band of Autumn Acorns paper. Next, I used the Falling Leaves paper and Chestnut Brown Linen Designer Cardstock to create the paper sunflowers adorning either side. (Find this adorable sunflower cut file HERE at MyScrapChick.com)
I painted the brown cardstock flower centers with THIS gold glitter water brush pen by Art-C to make them shimmer and sparkle. (I couldn’t quite capture these on camera … I sooo wish you could see them in person! They are AWESOME!)
Jana Eubank Echo Park Paper Celebrate Autumn Apple Barrel Basket 2 600
The orange flowers were created from orange paper from the 6×6 paper pad. I used the Decorative Brads for the centers, and then added them around the sunflowers along with a few floral stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet. This friendly chipboard squirrel holding the acorn hints to the paper acorn box placed inside the basket.

The basket itself was cut using Kraft Designer Cardstock using the basket file from the Fall Harvest SVG Set by SVGCuts.com. I used the Wood Grain Embossing Folder to give it lots of delicious, woodsy texture!

A peek inside the basket beckons the recipient to investigate!

Inside they will find the cutest acorn-shaped box filled with chocolates! (If you’d like to make your own acorn shaped box you can find the file HERE. It is from the Acorn Autumn SVG Set by SVGCuts.com)

I created another sunflower for the top of this box to coordinate with the basket, and then tied a tag from the Frames & Tags Ephemera pack to the acorn’s stem. The acorn lid is created from more Chestnut Brown Linen cardstock embossed with the Autumn Florals Embossing Folder.
