Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine – Page 2

Hi, friends! Today I am up on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine Blog with a new layout featuring the beautiful Carta Bella Here, There & Everywhere collection. I love the color palette of this collection so much! I’ve been really drawn to the color navy lately. It looks beautiful here paired with coral, blush, sage, and blue.

HELLO DREAMER

For the background of this layout, I cut several vertical strips in yellow gingham, coral, and sage floral. I then tore a few blue quilt-patterned paper strips to tuck in between the strips for more texture. The torn strips also frame the embellishment clusters in the top-right corner and left side of the photo.

The butterflies and bees in this collection make me so happy. I made sure to add them to all three embellishment clusters framed with lots of fussy-cut flowers!

My youngest daughter was peeking her head into this photo with a goofy expression on her face along the top-left edge of my photo. To make this layout focused on my older daughter, I simply covered her younger sister with an embellishment cluster (Sorry, Camryn! LOL!). I layered together die-cuts, fussy-cut florals, chipboard pieces, and adhesive brads for lots of texture and dimension.

I printed my journaling on an old Studio Calico journal card I found in my stash. I angled it slightly to break up the page’s straight lines and connect with the directional flow of my daughter’s gaze in the photo (lower-left corner to the upper-right corner of the page). A few banner stickers under the bottom edge, and one cut & torn into the shape of a washi strip, accent the journal block.

Create a huge impact with your title by embellishing it. I matted the title stickers with white cardstock, popped the title words up with foam tape, then decorated each end with fussy-cut florals, butterflies, and bee stickers.

I finished off the layout by sprinkling white acrylic paint around each embellishment cluster to soften and connect all of the beautiful patterns together and to add a dreamy feel to the page.

I love the way this page turned out and look forward to creating with the Carta Bella Here, There & Everywhere collection again. It’s no wonder this collection made it to the 10 Most Wanted column of the Summer 2023 Scrapbook & Cards Today issue.
