My Mind’s Eye Decorative Tapes

Today I have a page up on the My Mind’s Eye blog using the new decorative tapes from the Indie Chic collection. I LOVE this stuff! Before now, I hadn’t really played with tapes and wondered what all the buzz was about. I mean . . . how fun could tape REALLY be? Bwaaahaaa! And I gotta say . . . I love how easy they are to use. I love how it is slightly transparent and lets the background paper show through (great for a quick border). And there are so many possibilities!

For my page, I used three colors of tape to create a fun border around my page. I simply tore off varying lengths of tape and folded them over the edge of the background paper. I was careful to choose a neutral background paper so that there wouldn’t be TOO much going on. After I completed the border, I used my sewing machine to zig zag stitch here-and-there for fun. (I just can’t seem to do a page without stitching. Ha!)

To create my photo mat, I pulled out the 6 x 6 paper pad that coordinates with this collection and layered together three patterns, tearing one edge of each. I love that the scale is smaller on the 6 x 6 papers . . . they work so great as photo mats!
